RSpec Database not cleaning
I am finding that when I run all of my tests (about 20 files), my test database is not always cleaned, which means my tests fail when the whole suite is run, but succeed when the individual files are run.
I discovered that some of the tables are not empty at the start of the spec.
Here for example:
require "rails_helper"
RSpec.describe AccountsWorkflow do
describe "initalizes" do
it "knows if it has children" do
expect(QbAccount.count).to eq(0) #QbAccount is ActiveRecord
[...] #fails with QbAccount.count =4
end
end
end
The first expectation fails, which means for some reasons there must be rows not deleted form the previous test. I have reviewed the setup in a number of posts here of Database cleaner and have the following in spec_helper.rb
RSpec.configure do |config|
[other standard config settings]
config.before(:suite) do
DatabaseCleaner.clean_with(:truncation)
end
config.before(:each) do
DatabaseCleaner.strategy = :transaction
end
config.before(:each, :js => true) do
DatabaseCleaner.strategy = :truncation
end
config.before(:each) do
DatabaseCleaner.start
end
config.after(:each) do
DatabaseCleaner.clean
end
end
I also have
config.use_transactional_fixtures = false
in rails.helper.rb. Any ideas on why my test tb tables might still not be empty at the start of this test?
