The Egyptian side, to the left, is overgrazed Overgrazing occurs when plants are exposed to intensive grazing for extended periods of time, or without sufficient recovery periods. It can be caused by either livestock in poorly managed agricultural applications, game reserves, or nature reserves. It can also be caused by immobile, travel restricted populations of native or non-native wild animals. Cows are the main things that causes overgrazing and "overgrazing". However, "overgrazing" is a controversial concept, based on equilibrium system theory. It reduces the usefulness, productivity, and biodiversity of the land and is one cause of desertification and erosion. Overgrazing is also seen as a cause of the spread of invasive species of non-native plants and of weeds. It is caused by nomadic grazers in huge popu

The Rim Fire burned more than 250,000 acres (1,000 km 2 ) of forest near Yosemite National Park, in 2013 A wildfire or wildland fire is a fire in an area of combustible vegetation occurring in rural areas. [1] Depending on the type of vegetation present, a wildfire can also be classified more specifically as a brush fire , bushfire , desert fire , forest fire , grass fire , hill fire , peat fire , vegetation fire , and veld fire . [2] Fossil charcoal indicates that wildfires began soon after the appearance of terrestrial plants 420 million years ago. [3] Wildfire's occurrence throughout the history of terrestrial life invites conjecture that fire must have had pronounced evolutionary effects on most ecosystems' flora and fauna. [4] Earth
