Good way to distribute exes

0

I have a .NET project which generates an executable. I need an automated way of running this executable on different VMs on cloud. The project is checked into a source control, so the code is accessible in all the VMs. What is the best way to run the executable on all the VMs?

I am also concerned about the case where, in future, if the code changes, I want all these VMs to run the new code.

Some of the options I can think of:

  1. Run a script to download the source from the source control and build exe from the source on the VM everytime.

  2. Put exe on a shared folder and every time I have a new change in the source code update this exe.

None of these options sounds like the best way to do it. So just wanted to know if i am missing something.

Nuget can not be used to distribute .exe. Nuget is used to distribute .dlls/packages to be used in code. Consider editing the question and add relevant tags.
