Cassandra Snitch Change vs Topology Change
I have a Cassandra
DC setup with GossipPropertyFileSnitch
in AWS east
region over 3 AZs and the rack and dc's being specified in the property file as
AZ-1 AZ-2 AZ-3
------- -------- --------
DC=DC1 DC=DC1 DC=DC1
rack=2b rack=2c rack=2a
When I change this to Ec2Snitch the automatic DC/Rack info changes into:
AZ-1 AZ-2 AZ-3
------- -------- --------
DC=DC1 DC=DC1 DC=DC1
rack=2a rack=2b rack=2c
Considering the DC has data, the above scenario does not seem to be qualifying for splitting of DC, or addition/removal of nodes; In such case, shall we call it a topology change, since the rack information got changed among themselves?
