P. J. Bradley MLA (28 April 1940 – 1 March 2017) was a Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP) politician in Northern Ireland. He was a member of the Northern Ireland Assembly between 1998 and 2011 for the South Down Constituency. He was the SDLP Spokesperson for Agriculture and Rural Development and Deputy Whip of the Assembly's SDLP grouping.


He was elected to Newry and Mourne District Council in 1981. He stepped down from the council in 2005.[1]
Brought the application of Irish Passports to the citizens of Northern through local Post Offices.
First crusader for The Narrow Water Bridge project.
Ensured all senior citizens on the whole island of Ireland where entitled to free transport, throughout the country.
The only member from Northern Ireland on the 1916 commemorative committee. Organised the first Jim Larkin Summer School in Burren Co Down.
He campaigned tirelessly for the Undocumented Irish in the U.S.


Bradley was involved with Gaelic Athletic Association and has served on Down County GAA Board, South Down GAA Board and also served as Secretary of his own club, St Mary's GFC, Burren.


His daughter, Sinéad, won his MLA seat in 2016. He died on 1 March 2017.[2]
