Accessing web service with basic authentication from a java client running under Windows system
The regular approach to authenticate is to use the java.net.Authenticator.setDefault method with a valid PasswordAuthentication object.
I use this method in a windows java application and for some web services this setting seems to be ignored and my windows user is used for authentication in every case.
That means, if the windows user is valid for web service, it works, and if I set an invalid user, it works either.
If the windows user is not valid, the access is impossible, also with setting a valid user.
In the same application, I can access a different web service on a different server always in the expected way.
Probably, its something simple, but I can't find an explanation.
