Trying to req.flash() across controllers

0

I am using the connect-flash-plus npm package in my express project in order to send data across the backend.

It has been working splendidly so far but I have run into snag.

When I try to req.flash from one controller to another (2 different files), it seems as though the data does not get transferred.

Is this a known limitation of req.flash or am I just not doing it right ?

Below is a piece of the function that sends the data :

 req.flash("locals", locals)
res.redirect("/settings/createUser");

This code should redirect to the createUser page after a user is created with a message saying the user has been successfully created. The message and type are stored in the locals object being sent through req.flash().

Here is the other controller that should receive that data :

const getCreateUser = (req, res) =>
const result = req.flash("locals");
if (result.length > 0)
[locals] = result;

console.log(result);
res.render("createUserpage", locals);

The console.log(result) is always showing me an empty array which is normal if the req.flash("locals") doesn't contain anything, but as shown in the function above, it should contain something during the redirect.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Thank you !
