Adding Qt 4.8.5 C++ flags on Mac
I'm trying to configure Qt 4.8.5 on my Mac by executing the initial configure
executable.
Apple has deprecated building with libstdc++ (see this from Apple). I'm trying to add -stdlib=libc++
to all the places necessary in the configuration file, namely when g++ is used. However there seems to be a number of different places where g++ is used (in make, and qmake) which leads to errors such as
src/corelib/tools/qvarlengtharray.h:49:10: fatal error: 'new' file not found #include <new>
To which flags in the configure file should -stdlib=libc++
be added?
Thanks!

Qt 4.8.5 only supports MacOS/X versions up to OS/X 10.7 ("Lion"). I suppose it might be possible to wrestle it into submission and get it to compile under Mojave, but I suspect it would not be a very productive use of your time (even in the best-case scenario you'd be stuck in a very hard-to-support configuration with no upgrade path). If you have the option of using a modern version of Qt (e.g 5.11.x) instead, you'll find that it supports modern versions of MacOS/X much better.
