I'm trying to find the service name by its port number. In this case, if I've assigned the port number 40000 to service name [Apple] so I want to be able trace the port number 40000 to its name Apple.
Let say somebody comes to ask I would like to know the port number service name Apple, how do I find it. I've tried with netstat -plnt which does indicate its protocol type, Local Address with ports,State and PID/Program. How will I be able to define its service name? I've also tried grep port number /etc/services, but it does not show anything.
