R Filter by group through time and place

0

I am having trouble solving an issue. I have data of prices of products sold at supermarkets weekly. My goal is to compare prices of an homogeneous basket of products through stores through time.

I know that a product is not present in all stores all the time. But I want to have an homogenous set of products that is present every week (so I can compare a basket of products throughout time) and I want to find the stores that those products are at.

My data looks like this:

  1. Product Number - Store - Week - Price

    70001 - 1 - 30 - 22.00

    70002 - 2 - 30 - 4.50

    70003 - 3 - 30 - 11.25

    70003 - 1 - 31 - 12.50

    70002 - 2 - 31 - 5.00

    70001 - 3 - 31 - 22.50

Just to keep in mind, I have over a 1000 products, all weeks of the year and more than 2000 stores. It weights about 30Gb the data base. I am trying to avoid doing loops.

I spent about a week trying to do it with dplyr and aggregate but I am not getting anywhere.
