How to set pygame.midi.Output() in pygame.midi

0

I want to study generating music in midi format using python in order to generate some midi with deeplearning in future. But I got stuck at the begining:

import pygame.midi
import pygame
import time

pygame.midi.init()
midiOut = pygame.midi.Output(1)
midiOut.note_on(64,127)
time.sleep(0.5)
midiOut.note_off(64,127)

midiOut.close()

It throws "Exception: b"PortMidi:Invalid device ID'""`

When I set pygame.midi.Output(0)
It throws 'Device id given is not a valid output id, it is an input id.'
I have macOS

pygame.midi.get_count() returns 2

  • What does pygame.midi.get_device_info() return for both IDs?

  • That are two input devices. What output device do you think you have?
