Unable to pull basic pricing data using OANDAPYV20 API with example code

I'm trying to pull simple pricing data using the OANDAPYV20 API. The below code is basically identical to the API's documentation - I also tried with other variants unsuccessfully. Individually each line compiles successfully until client.request(r). I'm somewhat new to Python but this is pretty basic. The error I get is

"Insufficient authorization to perform request,"

which apparently actually means more of something like a syntax/data error than a permissions issue.

from oandapyV20 import API
import oandapyV20.endpoints.pricing as pricing

accountID = "[accountname here]"
client = API(access_token="[token here]")

params = "instruments": "EUR_USD,EUR_JPY"

r = pricing.PricingInfo(accountID=accountID, params=params)
rv = client.request(r)
print (r.response)

  • 4 weeks after publication, so you probably solved it (?) in case not: you need a V20 account. Also make sure that you pass the token for the correct environment. In this case you need a token for the test environment
