Tring to use Google PlaceAutoCmpleteAdapter in Fragment
I am trying to implement a google places auto complete adapter in a fragment. I got my code for the adapter from one of the google places sample apps. Here is the auto complete adapter class placeautocompleteadpter cunstructor from the class
public PlaceAutocompleteAdapter(Context context, GeoDataClient geoDataClient,
LatLngBounds bounds, AutocompleteFilter filter)
super(context, android.R.layout.simple_expandable_list_item_2, android.R.id.text1);
mGeoDataClient = geoDataClient;
mBounds = bounds;
mPlaceFilter = filter;
The problem is when I am trying to implement it in my fragment. The demo implements in an activity and the argument it uses for geodataclient is "this", Originally I just put MyFragment.this.getActivity() because that is what I used for context arguments. However I realized it is asking for geodataclient and I am unsure how to resolve this as this is my first android app. Here is the relevant section from my fragment:
//TODO fix autocoplete adapter
mGoogleApiClient = new GoogleApiClient
.Builder(NewFragment.this.getActivity())
.addApi(Places.GEO_DATA_API)
.addApi(Places.PLACE_DETECTION_API)
.enableAutoManage(NewFragment.this.getActivity(), this)
.build();
//getting error when using "this" for second argument
mPlaceAutoCompleteAdapter = new PlaceAutocompleteAdapter(NewFragment.this.getActivity(), this,
LAT_LNG_BOUNDS, null);
locOne.setAdapter(mPlaceAutoCompleteAdapter);
locTwo.setAdapter(mPlaceAutoCompleteAdapter);
//TODO end
Any help is appreciated!
