tmux choose-tree above tenth menu item (2.5 vs. 2.7)
I'm using tmux v. 2.7 (or 2.8), which has the nice new choose-tree implementation. Using P-w or P-u, I get a full list of windows for all sessions, meaning that the list is quite often longer than 10 menu items long. That means I cannot select from the window list using single-digit numbers for all items.
What I've read says that for higher-indexed items, tmux uses a-z. However, if I use v. 2.7+ of tmux, what I get for these indices is M-a, M-b, etc.
If I use version 2.5 of tmux, lo and behold, I get a, b, etc., for my higher indices. This is not only much easier. In my case, on a Mac using iTerm2 to connect to the Linux box running tmux, I cannot get the Meta key to work at all. So, I'm stuck without any option except to navigate through the list to the item I want to select.
Is this an intentional change to choose-tree? Why would anyone prefer M-a to a, when selecting the 11th menu item? Can I change it back somehow?
