Delete certain polygons from shapefile, by Polygon ID, (not same as row ID)
I have a shapefile with 4000 polygons.
These polygons each have an ID in their shape@polygons slot.
This IDs are not the same as the row ID. For example, the polygon in row 4 has an id of 15213.
I would like to remove certain polygons based on their polygon IDs within the shapefile.
Is possible?
I have tried to use the following:
newdata<-subset( shape@polygons, id != 15213)
I get this error:
Error in id != 11243 :
comparison (2) is possible only for atomic and list types
