MapStruct Map target fields by source field value

0

My source object is of a this format

public class Source

private SourceParm parm;

//GETTERS and SETTERS

and the SourceParm is a self-referencing object like this

public class SourceParm

private List<SourceParm> parm;

private List<String> value;

private String name;

private String type;

//GETTERS and SETTERS

Now let's assume the target class is of this format

public class Target

String type;
String channelType;
String externalTxnId;
String correlationId;

Now if I were to map to target fields , I need to write code like this

Target target=new Target();
if(SourceParm.getName().equals("channelType"))
target.setChannelType(SourceParm.getValue())

Also for some target value, I will have to iterate the SourceParm list like below

for(SourceParm sourceParm : sourceParm.getSourceParms())

if(sourceParm.getName().equals("externalTxnId"))
target.setExternalTxnId(SourceParm.getValue())

How do I achieve this using MapStruct? I don't see any easy way of doing as I end up writing a lot of default methods

  • For custom logic, You have to write your own code in either default methods or in common mappers. There's no option obviously. Same goes for any mapping framework
