Access vmware workstation / fusion guest screen via API, Python preferred

Looking for a way to access the screen pixels (RGB values at any position x,y) of a VMWare guest via API (Python preferred, but could use any other as well) running inside vmware Workstation Pro or Fusion. The guest OS is Windows, the host Windows or MacOS.



Additionally, performing mouse and keyboard actions via the API would be nice, but not strictly required.



From the vmware docs, e.g. https://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vix-api/, it seems they provide an API for vSphere, which seems to be a product for data centers.



I've also seen pysphere, https://pypi.org/project/pysphere/0.1.7/, and vix (https://github.com/naim94a/vix) for Python, but did not find this functionality in the respective docs.
