How to load css chunks in iframe?
I need your help to figure out the best way how to load in iframe css files, split by webpack 4 and mini-css-extract-plugin.
So I have an app that renders in iframe. For that I use react-iframe-component
.
In general the app looks like that
<Iframe
ref=(component) =>
this.iframe = component;
initialContent=`<!DOCTYPE html><html><head><link href="$urlToStylesBundle" rel="stylesheet"></head><body style="background: transparent"><div></div></body></html>`
style=
>
<FrameContextConsumer>
// Callback is invoked with iframe's window and document instances
( document, window ) => (
<Provider store=store>
<Container
ref=this.app
docObject=document
windowObject=window
config=config
/>
</Provider>
)
</FrameContextConsumer>
</Iframe>
I am going to add more "Containers" and use dynamic import for code splitting. So my index will be something like
<Iframe
...
>
<FrameContextConsumer>
...
<Container1
...
/>
...
</FrameContextConsumer>
</Iframe>
<Iframe
...
>
<FrameContextConsumer>
...
<Container1
...
/>
...
</FrameContextConsumer>
</Iframe>
<Iframe
...
>
<FrameContextConsumer>
...
<Container3
...
/>
...
</FrameContextConsumer>
</Iframe>
etc.
So since I do dynamic import I cannot specify the stylesheets in initialContent anymore. Instead the app appends <Link src=urlToChunk.css
in head of the page document. Which breaks the page styles and not implement styles in iframe.
The temporary solution I came up with is find all styles in head by filename suffix and put them in iframe head like that:
getStylesheets = () =>
const cssChunks = document.querySelectorAll(
'link[href*="suffix-in-file-name.css"], link[data-href*="suffix-in-file-name.css"]'
);
const frameHead = Array.from(cssChunks).reduce((acc, el: HTMLLinkElement) =>
const href = el.href , '');
return frameHead
;
.....
import HtmlParser from 'html-react-parser';
.....
render() {
const frameHead = this.getStylesheets();
return (
<Iframe
ref=(component) =>
this.iframe = component;
head=HtmlParser(frameHead)
Does anyone have a better solution? Or is there a way to not extract styles in css files and append <style>..</style>
in iframe
Thanks
