Ubuntu Server auto detect ethernet interface name
I am having the ubuntu server 16.04 on my machine and i dont know why the interface name is enp3s0
instead of eth0
. I cloned this image for my peer but his machine by default come with eth0 as the primary interface, so he have to manually edit /etc/network/interfaces
everytime after cloning the image.
Some how something weird, there is another image from other guys where if i cloned to my machine, the primary interface will be eth0
, unfortunately I cant get in touch with him since he left the org.
My question is, is there any way i can make Ubuntu Server auto detect the interface name so when the image cloned among the team, it didnt messed up the ethernet connection
