Session sharing between Tomcat app and Wordpress (on IIS)

0

I have a Wordpress enabled website which works of IIS (for the Wordpress part) and Tomcat 9 for processing requests which is an Angular application. The Angular app makes use of the sessionStorage object to set values and it embedded within the Wordpress app via an iframe window. I need a way to share session information from the Angular/Tomcat application to the Wordpress app in order to provide the right menu for the user that has logged in. I googled for a solution to this and most answers point to using cookies. I might be wrong, but since this is going to be a secure website this might not be the best approach since it might be vulnerable to attacks.
Please suggest any approach to allow session information to be securely shared between these two.
