Metricbeat nginx multiple hosts

0

I configured metricbeat to fetch the metrics of 2 nginx docker containers: [ "myhostname:8080", "myhostname:8181"]

When I open the Metricbeat Nginx dashboard I see only one line (I was expecting one line for each nginx server) in all the visualizations even if in the Discovery I can see the metrics of both servers:

  • metricset.host:myhostname:8080

  • metricset.host:myhostname:8181

Both servers has the same host.name: "myhost"

  • Your visualization is probably grouped by host.name hence you are seeing only one line. Add a new custom field to differentiate both the servers and group on that field to get two lines as expected.
