QCombox validation on Tab

0

I am using an editable QCombobox with a Completer and a Model, when the Text does not match any Entry in the Model and I press enter the Combobox is cleared. When I use Tab it is not checked if the entry is in the Model but it is just keeped and written to the model mapped to it via the QDataWidgetMapper. I tried solving the Problem via subclassing the ComboBox and introducing the KeyEventFilter and/or the eventFilter for both of the methods it didnt work the event just wasnt caught. The keyeventFilter hat a little success by capturing the enter event.

def eventFilter(self, obj, e):
if e.type() == QEvent.ShortcutOverride:
logger.debug(e.key(), Qt.Key_Tab)
if e.key() == Qt.Key_Tab:
if not self.model().contains(self.currentText()):
# contains is PseudoCode I use something else
# from my subclass of the QAbstractTableModel
self.setCurrentText("")
return True
else:
pass
else:
pass
return QComboBox.eventFilter(self, obj, e)

I cant find any solution for this. Maybe you can help C code should be fine.
